I picked up this beautiful way of arranging veggies while on a trip in the Caribbean. It was a much smaller version, but with the right vessel, I found that I could create an edible centerpiece that is both tasty and beautiful! I found this rectangular, glass vase at Crate and Barrel, and love it for a crowd! I also have a smaller, square glass vase that I use for a smaller gathering.
You can choose a variety of veggies, with the goal of showcasing the vibrant colors in easy to snack on shapes and sizes. I usually start with small flowerettes of cauliflower (orange, purple or white). Adding these at the bottom, gives you a base from which to add some of your taller vegetables.
I usually then add:
- Asparagus (purple or green)
- Carrots (rainbow assortment of purple, orange and yellow if available)
- Celery
- Peppers (choose from red, orange or yellow)
- Cherry Tomatoes
I tend to use the cherry tomatoes to separate and prop some of the taller veggies. Et voila!
